ME

Kenyan, studied in Malaysia, currently living in Abu dabhi . My undergraduate studies in Architecture have equipped me with creativity, conceptual design skills, planning skills, skills necessary for effective construction in the continuously changing environment . I am now seeking to expand my knowledge and skills, I am a motivated multi cultured individual who is ready to open up to opportunities in the Architectural design world . I hope that together we can make a difference socially, economically and environmentally.

Environmental Sustainable design

This module introduced me to the environmental issues and provided me with in-depth understanding of the complexities and interactions that a design and construction process and profession can cause environmental problems, but it also taught us ways in which we can solve and reduce environmental disasters.
We went through a series of lectures and projects to attain this knowledge and to increase our understanding.

Project 1


Green-Go 2013 International Short Film Contest
This project was an international competition, based on environmental issues caused by us humans in different ways, we were to make an awareness video, either a campaign video or a short film, based on one of the topics given, which are:
-Life in plastic, it's fantastic
-Water, the drop of life
-Stayin' alive 

The topic I chose to research on was staying alive, since I am from kenya i knew that the elephants are endangered wild animals in kenya. Therefor i made a short campaign video to raise the awareness to save the elephants in kenya, at the same time showing the consequences our actions are affecting our surrounding environment.


After a successful completion of this project, I was able to realize that our small actions can really affect the environment without us realizing it, and at the same time if we reverse our actions we can easily save the environment.

Project 2
Appreciating the environment, nothing is considered a waste.
This was a group project, and we had to go through a lot of tasks and research to complete this assignment. 
The construction industry, when going through the construction process release construction waste, and these construction waste can be harmful to the environment. 
After a thorough research not only from books but also site visit, we learnt the causes of construction waste, how to avoid them and the importance of selection of materials.
we later as a group made a research poster, on all our findings.

We later individually had to make an abject using a construction waste material for recycling.

After a successful completion of the projects I fully understood and recognize the effect of growth on the environment, identify local climatic and environmental concerns, and learn ways to reduce environmental disasters.
